This Saturday we have two games against the Eastside Banshees (games at 1p and 3p at Afton Heights Park). Before taking the field, there are several things that you need to do:
1. Come to practice Tuesday and Thursday (even if you haven’t been out yet, come out – get on the same page as your teammates)

2. Register with USA Rugby aka CIPP (See Drew Hester’s attached email for more information)
3. Get a full kit – if you do not have this talk to Thor at practice
a. One red sock
b. One black sock
c. Black shorts – preferably the St Paul RFC branded shorts
4. Pay your dues
a. If you are unable to pay the full amount, set up a payment plan with Tony Miller
5. Start thinking about what you can do Saturday to help your team win.

It’s that time of year again to register with USA Rugby! If you are playing
this fall you *must* register. The membership expiration date this year is
August 31st – if you were registered with USA rugby last year, you must
re-register by this date. If you are new to rugby or if you did not
register last year you must register by our first match. Here are the steps
to complete registration:
Go to https://webpoint.usarugby.org/
If you are a new player and have not registered before click join, if you
are returning click login:
Once you have logged in or created an account click on the plus sign next
to “Member Area” and then Click “Renew Membership”
Fill in your member information, click submit. On the next screen you will
register as a “Player Member”. Select Minnesota from the state dropdown and
select “St. Paul Rugby Football Club” from the club dropdown
Acknowledge the disclaimers and then you must pay for your membership. USA
Rugby dues this year are $56.50. Please do this ASAP. If you have any
questions respond to me by email or call/text 763-443-7106,

Here is our practice schedule for the fall of 2016
August 2nd: skills practice (passing, running form, kicking, etc.) – if you feel that you have the perfect pass, running and kicking form, we will see you Thursday
August 4th: first regular practice
Practice will continue each Tuesday and Thursday at Afton Park Height Field. Practice times 6:30-8:30 (subject to change based on sunlight)

The board is making a decision on the moving the Eastside game to Labor Day. You will be updated as soon as that decision has been made.
We have two travel weekends – Green Bay and Wisconsin, the games are a month apart. Get your work schedules prioritized. Plan any non-rugby trips over the bye week.
I am looking forward to the fall – we have the ability to do great things this fall if we can all get on the same page. If you have not done anything this summer accept chase Pokémon, I would get out and run before getting to practice.

St Paul Rugby Club
The St. Paul Pigs are planning on going on tour over the Thanksgiving
Holiday in 2017. Please copy and past the below survey link into your
browser and take the survey by 7-9-2016. We need to know how many people
are interested in going on tour so we can start getting things in order.
The Midwest Union is in the process of setting up the schedule for next
fall and has asked if we have any special scheduling requests.
In the past we have asked for a bye weekend because of a player having a
wedding during the season (try to avoid that…weddings are cheaper in
winter anyways). Or another event that would pull a lot of guys away from a

I am sure they have already given everyone a bye weekend for the NZ v
Osh Kosh and the Bottom Feeders do not have enough people to field two sides. We will be playing one match, with three thirty minute periods. Kick-off is now at 1:00pm. Please be there at 11:45am for field setup. After setting up the field, get together in position groups (forwards/backs) and start walking through set pieces/plays. That is what we did up at Duluth.
We have two home matches this Saturday, May 14th. First, the D2 will be playing against the St. Cloud Bottom Feeders at 12:00pm. At 2:00pm, the D4 will be taking on the Osh Kosh Mighty Pigs.
Both matches will be at our home pitch in Maplewood. (Afton Heights Park, Upper Afton Rd., Maplewood, MN 55119).
Please be at the field at 10:45m to help with field setup. Please setup your gear on the north side of the field (baseball diamond side).
Backs please bring a case of water for the team to use.
After the matches we will be doing the Annual Pig Roast. Below is the info for the event.

Saturday, April 30th, we are traveling to Duluth, MN to take on U of M:Duluth College Men (3 time defending national champs). Kick-off will be at 12:00pm. Please be there kitted and ready to warm up by 11:00am. Troy wants to run extra lines with the back-line. If you are a kicker, please be there before 11:00am to warm up kicking.
The location of the match will be field 4 on the UMD campus,1064 University Drive, Duluth, MN
The weather Saturday is supposed to be sunny, but high in the mid 40s with wind up to 19mph.
