DESCRIPTION:New location for Buca 2026!\n\n\n\nThe 22nd annual Mike “Buca” Lundberg Memorial Rugby Tournament will be held March 7th\, 2026 at Surly Festival Field! For the first time ever\, we are moving our snow rugby tournament to the Twin Cities. \n520 Malcolm Ave SE\, Minneapolis\, MN 55414 \n\n\n\n\nHISTORY\n\n\n\n\n\nIn 2004\, the Mike Lundberg Memorial Tournament started as a fun opportunity to play winter rugby for men and women of all skill levels while donating 100% of the proceeds to help defray the costs of Mike’s treatments. Sadly\, Mike lost his long battle with Leukemia in 2008. At the request of his family\, we have continued the tournament to celebrate his life and help a member of the Minnesota rugby community in need. \n\n\n\n\nThis year our beneficiary will be Joe “Rubber” Lang\, one of our old boys who is unfortunately battling a very rare occurrence of cancer returning after beating it 20 years ago.  All proceeds from the tournament will go to Rubber and his family. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJOIN IN!\n\n\n\nThe event is free and open to the public! Come on out and learn about rugby or support your favorite player as they get tackled into a snowbank. You can also support the fundraiser by buying a Supporter ticket to pre-pay for this year’s Tourney Shirt and pick it up at the event.  \n\n\n\nPlayers\n\n\n\nThe tournament is open to all ruggers\, from both men’s and women’s clubs college age and up. Teams are co-ed\, mixed-team\, so come with all your teammates or come by yourself! You’ll be put on a random team picked from the entire pool of players. Pre-register by buying a Player ticket below; your Tourney Shirt is included! \n\n\n\nCheck in starts at 10am and rugby will start by 11. \n\n\n\nSponsors\n\n\n\n\nThere are two sponsorship levels this year: $200 gets your company’s\, organization’s\, or personal logo featured on the back of our tournament shirts and the continuously updated sponsor section on this page\, and $100 gets you all the same but just the name will be featured. Both sponsorship levels get you a Tourney Shirt as well!  The 2025 Tourney Shirt is below: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you would like to donate straight to Rubber’s fund\, feel free to purchase any level of ticket below and write “Donation” as part of your name. DESCRIPTION:All-Comers tournament. There is an entry fee of $30 per player. Names are drawn from a hat to determine the teams. The number of entrants will determine the format. (7s\, 10s\, 15s) There will be a post-tourney social with food and drinks for all participants. MEN AND WOMEN RUGGERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. \nIn 2004\, the Mike Lundberg Memorial Tournament started as a fun opportunity to play winter rugby for men and women of all skill levels while donating 100% of the proceeds to help defray the costs of Mike’s treatments.
