Hope all piggies and company are having a safe and happy new year!
A few friendly reminders:
Our annual general meeting (AGM) will be held at Halftime Rec on Thursday January 11th at 6:30PM.
The AGM is where we discuss the ups and downs of last season, and decide what direction we want to go this season. It is also where we elect board and officer position for the coming season. Piggies old and new are encouraged to attend!
The meeting will be held in the basement at Halftime, so you will need to bring your own chair. Also I’m not sure if it is heated, so dress accordingly.
You would never know that it was only 30° outside, as the pigs came out hot this match. Scoring four trys accompanied by four conversions, resulting in a comfortable 28-17 lead at the half.
This concludes the Pigs 2023 season. But don’t turn that dial!
2024 is going to be a very special season, as it’s the Pigs 50th anniversary! To celebrate there will be special events, an international tour, and more. Stay tuned!
After taking over a year long hiatus due to the Coronavirus pandemic – rugby is back! The St. Paul Pigs resumed practice beginning on April 8th, 2021. The last time the Pigs played a match was the 2019 Midwest championship vs. Fox Valley RFC; a nail biter of a match that ended in a 13-15 loss and put an end to the Pigs’ national playoff run.
There was still plenty to be proud of about the 2019 fall season, including an undefeated (8-0) regular season, lowest points allowed (only 84 on the season), multiple dominant shut-out wins, winning the State Championship and a win at the Midwest D3 Playoffs.
The Pigs have nationals in their sights again this year and preparation starts now.
If you’re looking for a new club to join, feel free to join us at practice and be sure to send us a message via our contact form and we can get your questions answered.

This year the proceeds from the 14th annual Mike Lundberg tournament will go to Daniel Taylor aka “Try-Hard” from the SCSU Fighting Carp. Daniel came down with a viral infection in his throat that spread to his chest and is still undergoing treatment to restore function of his vocal cords while attending school. Please join us on March 4th in River Falls, WI to play some rugby and support Try-Hard!
