2026 Summer Schedule
A Cold Start to Spring
The skies were clear this past Saturday, although the wind was a persistent reminder that we are still closer to winter than to road construction.
To initiate the 2025 spring season, the Pigs hosted the Red River Ruffians at the VFW fields in Otsego, with the ball doping leisurely sometime after 1PM.
The teams appeared fairly evenly matched, as it was some time of back and forth before the Pigs finally placed the first points on the board. Unfortunately this would be the only points that the Pigs would score for some time, as Red River would respond in kind. And again. And again. After some more back and forth, the Pigs would rally their way back to within one try of tying the match. Then with a red card advantage (due to a dangerous dump tackle), the Pigs marched down the field one last time, victory within reach! Alas, the clock is a formidable opponent. The final whistle sounded, Red River 24 – St Paul 17.
Heads high lads! The beginning of the season means that there is much more rugby to be had!
Thursday, April 10th, 6PM – the pigs will take on St Thomas at Nuevas Fronteras fields in Saint Paul Park, MN.
Saturday, April 12, 1PM – the pigs will head north to Collegeville, MN for some minutes against St Johns.
Bonus Match Added
A bonus match has been added to close out our regular fall season.
The Pigs will be hosting Carleton College at our home pitch in Maplewood on 10/26.
Kickoff is TBD ( usually 1:00PM )

Rugby is Back!
After taking over a year long hiatus due to the Coronavirus pandemic – rugby is back! The St. Paul Pigs resumed practice beginning on April 8th, 2021. The last time the Pigs played a match was the 2019 Midwest championship vs. Fox Valley RFC; a nail biter of a match that ended in a 13-15 loss and put an end to the Pigs’ national playoff run.
There was still plenty to be proud of about the 2019 fall season, including an undefeated (8-0) regular season, lowest points allowed (only 84 on the season), multiple dominant shut-out wins, winning the State Championship and a win at the Midwest D3 Playoffs.

The Pigs have nationals in their sights again this year and preparation starts now.
